From Matisse to Malevich at the Hermitage Museum Amsterdam

It is a blossoming spring in Amsterdam for French Art.
After viewing the exhibition on Gauguin at the Van Gogh Museum, I visited the other new exhibition at the Hermitage Museum of Amsterdam, that could almost be entitled "suite du musée Van Gogh."
Indeed this new exhibition addresses the evolution of modern painting in the early twentieth century, namely just after the post-impressionist generation.

This great exhibition, open until next September, made me want to work on a small introduction to Fauvism and Cubism, soon available.

In the middtime, visit "From Matisse to Malevich"

Van Gogh Museum, Amsterdam: Paul Gauguin "The breakthrough into modernity"

In 1889, during the Paris World’s Fair, Paul Gauguin and several friends exhibited their work on the festival site of the Café des Arts, owned by a certain monsieur Volpini.
Altogether there are some 60 works of art (paintings, works on paper, sculptures and ceramics) on view.

It is a must see until the 6th of June!
